Animore…The fist annual benefit for the “love of animals” at Alaqua Animal Refuge was held Friday evening, September 25th, at Bentey’s on the Bay. It was a well-attended, festive fundraiser with delicious food and drinks (including meow-garitas), entertainment and live and silent auction opportunities.
The amazing Alaqua Animal Refuge story was presented, as well as their expansion plan funded by a grant from the Dugas Family Foundation. All proceeds raised through the event will help place abandoned pets in new homes, support spay/neuter programs and provide medical care.
Alaqua Animal Refuge is a no-kill refuge located on a 10 acre farm in Freeport, Florida that houses more than 300 animals daily ranging from cats, dogs, horses, goats and birds. They rely on the kindness and generosity of their supporters.
